A Streetcar Named Inspire is a community art project that seeks to place 200+ streetcar-shaped custom creations developed by local artists all over the metro New Orleans area.

The project will benefit the Downtown Development District's vision for a dynamic, public art space slated for the corner of Basin St. and Canal St. Now's the time to hop on board this exciting public art festival! Streetcars will be on display from May/June 2008 through February 2009.

Sponsorship levels are outlined below (click here for the Sponsorship Order Form). Get on board and join the excitement by sponsoring your very own streetcar!

Purple Sponsor ~ $5,000

Purple level sponsors receive one painted or unpainted fiberglass streetcar to be placed in a public location selected by the YLC.

Green Sponsor ~ $5,500

Green level sponsors receive one painted or unpainted fiberglass streetcar with placement of the streetcar at a location of your choice.

Gold Sponsor ~ $7,000

Gold level sponsors receive one painted or unpainted fiberglass streetcar and can keep their streetcar after the public display period ends.

All sponsorships include a sponsorship plaque with your organization's name, the artist's name and the title of the art piece.

All streetcars will be promoted to the community for viewing through collateral materials, local media and special events. Once a sponsor has committed to a sponsorship, they will have the opportunity to select a streetcar design from the vast array of sketches the YLC has received from local artists interested in participating in the art festival. Sponsors may also arrange to purchase an unpainted streetcar and commission their own artist. $1000 of the sponsorship goes to the artist for time and materials.
