Project Prodigy Project Prodigy is a summer music camp for inner city kids who otherwise would not have access to music education. The kids are taught by certified music teachers in the Orleans Parish school system, and the camp is managed by YLC volunteers. Leader: Lee Reid, lee.reid@arlaw.com.

Summer Music Camp

The highlight of Project Prodigy is the four week summer music camp held Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Students are instructed by certified public school music teachers. On various days of the camp, students are entertained by local New Orleans musicians providing hands-on demonstrations. The Summer Camp recital provides an opportunity for Campers to perform their newly sought talent for family and friends. 

Field Trip Series

Throughout the year, Project Prodigy students have the opportunity to participate in a series of music field trips such as: the House of Blues, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Old US Mint Jazz concerts, and the New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park concerts.
