YLC Education Support

The YLC Education Support program provides a venue for YLC members to perform basic volunteer duties at local schools. Addtionally, through this program, YLC members may design and propose enrichment classes for New Orleans middle-school students in an area of their expertise (i.e., yoga, etiquette, money management, etc.).

Leader: Damian Tatum auturgy@gmail.com.

Join YLC Education Support Committee

With the 2009/2010 school year well underway, tutoring needs across all schools in New Orleans are becoming more frequent. In an effort to cater to these needs and expand the project's scope, YLC Education Support Project Leader Damian Tatum is recruiting passionate volunteers to join him in leading the project. All members interested in either joining the committee or taking on a leadership position within the project should contact Damian at auturgy@gmail.com to learn more.

Tutoring Opportunities

If you are not interested in taking on a committee role but would like to tutor, YLC Education Support is currently seeking tutors for the Live Oaks Elementary School tutoring program. The program is weekdays from 4:15-6:15 p.m. and volunteers must commit at least one hour per week over the span of one month.

The tutoring schedule is very flexible so whether you are available every week, every month, or one time only, we have volunteer opportunities for you.

For more information or to sign up as a tutor, please contact Damian Tatum at (814) 777-7777 or at auturgy@gmail.com.
