Youth Run New Orleans (YRNOLA) Mission Youth Run New Orleans empowers middle and high school students to make positive choices on the track, in the classroom, and in the community. Through a program of guided training in preparation for the annual Crescent City Classic 10k race, the students of Youth Run NOLA develop active, healthy lifestyles, build character and commitment, and prepare to become tomorrow's community leaders. Logistics Our 8 chapters in St. Bernard, Jefferson, and Orleans Parishes gather twice weekly for after school training sessions. Weekend events provide student participants with additional training and community involvement opportunities. All student participants will complete the 10k (6.2 miles) Crescent City Classic in Spring 2012, while a subset will run in the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon. Get Involved Youth Run NOLA relies on the support of committed, passionate running buddies, volunteers, and guest runners to make every event fun, safe and a positive experience for all.
Whether you are interested in playing a role in promoting wellness, character, and community leadership in Greater New Orleans' youth or you just want more information, email us at info@yrnola.org. The Future Building on last year's strong start, this year finds us in 8 school sites across three parishes, with over 100 students participants. As we strive to continue to perfect our guided training program and give students the tools to succeed as both runners and community members, we expect 100% of the students to complete the Crescent City Classic this Spring! With positive adult role models, teamwork and a safe, supportive environment, we plan to impact youth across the region so they can hit their stride on the track and in life.
